METRO FACES PETALS

METRO FACES PETALS is a response to the sound-world of the London Underground mediated through Ezra Pound’s seminal modernist imagistic poem ‘In the Station of the Metro’:

The apparition of these faces in the crowd
Petals on a wet black bough.

Pound’s compressed metamorphosis is temporally extended in the composition allowing the sounds of the underground to gradually transform into petals of harmonic sound before totally metamorphosing into the sounds of nature.
